Day two of Beach Nationals is in the books as teams prepare for Sunday’s playoffs

August 17th, 2014 (PARKSVILLE, BC) – Vancouver Island offered up blue skies and sunshine for day two of the 2014 Beach National Championships. The beautiful weather was accompanied by some very competitive contests, especially on feature court where multiple matches took three sets to decide the winner.

Saturday was the final day of pool play and teams have now been ranked and seeded for Sunday’s playoff rounds. On Sunday, the format moves to single elimination, so while all teams will be guaranteed to play at least one match, only the winning teams will continue on to the finals rounds.

The following teams have remained undefeated through both days of the tournament which is an amazing feat considering the level of competition –

H.May/S.Purdy (Victoria) in the 14U girls division with a record of 6-0
M.Newman/M.Elgert (Calgary) in the 16U boys division with a record of 5-0
J.Kepler/S.Stone (Surrey) in the 16U girls division with a record of 6-0
K.Van Ryk/G.Attieh (Surrey) in the 16U girls division with a record of 6-0
