LOWER MAINLAND REGIONAL MANAGER

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual to join our organization in a dynamic, sport-administration role located in the Lower Mainland. Reporting to the Manager of Volleyball Operations, the Lower Mainland Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of volleyball throughout the Lower Mainland while supporting strategic initiatives throughout BC. The Lower Mainland Regional Manager oversees the selection and management of event staff and gym coordinators in their region, maintains relationships with key stakeholders and facilities, and is capable of organizing and executing large-scale sporting events. This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends at various facilities throughout the Lower Mainland, with regular weekend work during the indoor club volleyball season. The incumbent will work from Volleyball BC’s head office at Harry Jerome Sports Centre, with an opportunity for a mixed schedule to include some remote work. The incumbent will need the ability to travel around the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland for staff meetings and events when required.

FACILITY MANAGER

We are seeking a qualified and multi-faceted Facility Manager to be based at our head offices in Burnaby. Under the direction of the Head of Operations, the Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations of the HJSC, which is a 53,000 sq. ft. recreational faiclity with an air-supported dome roof. The facility includes an indoor wooden cycling track and six volleyball courts, and offers year-round programming 7 days a week. The Facility Manager provides leadership in all aspects of facilities management including planning, budgeting, safety, security, maintenance, operations, staffing, contract management, and emergency management. Additionally, the Facility Manager will support the Volleyball BC adult recreational programs that run at HJSC, assigning facility staff and providing excellent customer service for the successful delivery of programming.
The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic work environment, which includes seasonal outdoor tasks such as roof and ground snow removal in the winter and general grounds maintenance during warmer months. The individual should be comfortable with facility administration including scheduling, managing staff and implementing facility policies and procedures when required. This position is primarily a day-time role but the individual must be able to work evenings and weekends as required. There will also be on-call emergency hours.

Communications and Events Coordinator
The Communications and Event Coordinator will be an active member of the event delivery team. VBC Events include, but are not limited to, Provincial Championships both indoor and outdoor, the Vancouver Open, and the Hall of Fame. The Communications and Events Coordinator will support planning, logistics, scheduling, communications, and on site delivery. The Communications and Event Coordinator will effectively use traditional and creative approaches and best practices to tell our stories, communicate information to our target audiences, and showcase volleyball through successful event delivery.
