This past weekend, over 25 teams competed in Kelowna at the 12/13U & 14U Girls Okanagan Super Spike. Rutland Secondary School and Okanagan Mission Secondary school hosted the event that featured seven 12/13U girls teams and nineteen 14U girls teams. Teams from all over the province participated, including clubs from Prince George, Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and of course, the Okanagan.
With the introduction of Tripleball & FairPlay, the competition was fantastic and many of the matches went to three sets. The close competition created a very exciting atmosphere that was further nurtured by a variety of energetic team cheers!
The Super Spike event also took time to recognize athletes from each team with “Most Sportsmanlike” honours. The recipients have been listed on the Volleyball BC website, under the event’s information.
