Volleyball BC is happy to announce the hiring of Ian Esplen as marketing and communications manager.

Originally from Victoria, B.C., Ian and his wife lived in Calgary, Alta. for 13 years before deciding to move back to the warmer west coast climate. He holds a Bachelor of Communication degree from Mount Royal University, with his major being Journalism.

Before being hired by Volleyball BC, Ian spent nearly two years as the media and content production manager for the Peak Medical Group. In this position, Ian was responsible for the company’s various social media feeds, event planning, radio/print ads, copywriting, blogging, media interaction, video production, graphic design, photos and much more. He has also written several news articles for the Canadian Press and the Calgary Journal, as well as, blogged on numerous sports websites.

In April of 2016, Ian and his wife welcomed their first child into the world. In his free time, he enjoys staying active with a variety of sports, getting outside as much as possible and playing with his two dogs.
