#SPIKEbullying contest winner announced!

AND THE CONTEST WINNER IS…..

A huge ‘THANK YOU” to everyone who participated in our #SPIKEbullying campaign. Volleyball BC is confident that the message was heard loud and clear – bullying does not belong in our sport. Players, coaches, referees, staff members, and parents all joined in to help spread the word.

In conjunction with Via Sport’s Erase Bullying initiative, Volleyball BC’s goal was to increase awareness and draw attention to not only bullying in sport but also what it means to be a “good teammate”.

All told, in just a few short weeks we posted almost 40 social media messages on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Those posts were shared and liked throughout the entire Volleyball BC community.  Our Facebook #SPIKEbullying campaign reached almost 8,000 people.  On twitter, we surpassed 17,600 impressions and had almost 500 total engagements. The Instagram numbers saw us almost hit 30,000 impressions and reach just over 23,000 people. Combine that with Volleyball BC’s own #SPIKEbullying pink t-shirt give away to over 200 referees — and you can see that we definitely had all of the ERASE bullying bases covered.

Check out some of the awesome photo submissions we received, along with the winning post below!

 #SPIKEbullying Campaign

This initiative will be a yearly campaign moving forward. One that we will continue to grow and expand as we work hard to SPIKEbullying in BC!

The winning submission in our social media contest was this video, from the 16U AA SKY VOLLEYBALL team. For all of their hard work, contributions, and creativity, the girls will receive $300.00 cash to spend on any team building cause!

Congratulations 16U Sky! Thanks again for everyone taking part!
