The Province’s Best of B.C.

Senior Boys Super 15 Class of 2014-15

(height, position, post-secondary destination (if known), poll points scored highest to lowest)

1. Devon Cote (Kelowna) (6-1, OH, UBC-Okanagan) — A real competitor. Never gets rattled. Extremely explosive with great motor. One of Okanagan’s best-ever prospects. (39)

2. Jordan Koslowsky (Abbotsford-MEI) (6-0, S, Trinity Western) — Deep understanding of the game, combined with an on-court joy of competition, he typifies the persona of a winning setter. (30)

3. tie-Sam Taylor-Parks (Kelowna) (6-7, M/OH, Thompson Rivers) — Biggest player coming out this year, he is a very good blocker and overall attacker. (27)

3. tie-Brayden Brouwer (Courtenay-G.P. Vanier) (6-2, OH, Vancouver Island) — Diamond in the rough among the group. Raw, but could be the best player of the lot in five years. (27)

5. Justin Faester (Surrey-Earl Marriott) (6-3, OH, undecided) — Most complete outside hitter. Good jump, powerful arm, was selected MVP as Marriott won B.C. Triple A title. (23)

6. Jordan Loewen (Abbotsford-MEI) (6-1, OH, undecided) — Serve-receive game is uncanny, projects as a CIS player at three different positions. Intangibles aplenty. (17)

7. Eli Risso (Kelowna) (6-0, S, undecided) — Competitive streak is high. Terrific spike serve, could set or play libero at CIS level. (15)

8. Ryan Bednar (Kelowna-Mt. Boucherie) (6-4, OH, undecided) — Noted as big and physical, a pure serve receiver who has really increased his attack range. (10)

9. Jordan DeShane (Surrey-Fraser Heights) (6-4, M, undecided) — Under-rated, noted as perhaps the most complete middle blocker in this group. (9)

10. Eric Lee (Surrey-Earl Marriott) (6-4, M/OH, undecided) — Foot speed and jump make up for any size mismatches, noted for an explosive, short arm. (7)

10. Zac McKay (Nanaimo-Woodlands) (6-5, M, undecided) — Raw but very talented, and while off the radar a bit has the chance to become a CIS talent. (7)

12. Matt Wittall (Focus VC) (6-3, OH) (Douglas) — His arm speed and attack velocity are elite. Sunshine Coast native did not play in high school. (3)

12. Reece Frey (Surrey-Clayton Heights) (6-4, OH, undecided) — An amazingly physical talent, he brings a ton of velocity to the attack and is solid blocker. (3)

14. Carter Kirilenko (Surrey-Fraser Heights) (6-2, OH, undecided) — An all-round talent, could attack or become libero. Ton of high-end potential. An unassuming player. (1)

14. Kyle Bourdon (Victoria-Oak Bay) (6-3, S, undecided) — Freakish athletic talent. Could set or attack at next level. Universal skill set very impressive. (1)
