U21 World Silver Medalists Coming to Vancouver Open

 

2011 U21 World Silver medalists and 2011 National Bronze medalists Melissa Humana-Peredes and Victoria Altomere have confirmed that they will both participate at the 2012 Vancouver Open.  Humana-Peredes has partnered up with Manitoba’s Taylor Pischke while Altomare has partnered up with Caleigh Whitaker.  Top BC athletes looking to take them down include Volleyball BC Pro Series #4 champions Megan McNamara (BC)/Nicole McNamara (BC), National Team members Jamie Broder (BC)/Kristina Valjas (ON) and Kristina Vlcek (ON)/Amber Brown (BC).

The Vancouver Open 

The best beach volleyball players from across Canada and the Northwest United States hit Kits Beach July 13-15  for the Vancouver Open, which boasts the largest prize money in Canada set at $15,000. A qualifying tournament will be held on Friday to solidify the 32 team double elimination format Main Draw that runs on Saturday and Sunday. Competitors range from Canadian National Team players, to those currently competing on the FIVB and AVP tours, to BC’s best local players.

The Vancouver Open is free to the public and fans are encouraged to come and check it out – rain or shine.
