National Volleyball Month Contest

Cash Prize Contest!

Volleyball Canada is encouraging Clubs, High Schools, and Post-Secondary Institutions to take part in this years’ National Volleyball Month activities.  National Volleyball Month (September) is about:

• Teaching and inspiring young people to play the game

• Teaching elementary school teachers and kids Age Appropriate Games

• Establishing “Champions” within schools to lead the development of volleyball programs

• Increasing the exposure of our College and University programs

• Creating a stream of players into the High School and Club systems

This year, Volleyball Canada will be offering a $1000 cash prize to a High School, Club or Post-Secondary School that visits an elementary school and takes part in National Volleyball Month activities.

Here are the contest details:

Send in one picture for each school visited to [email protected] , and your school/club will be entered into a random draw to win the $1000 cash prize. Teams that visit multiple schools will receive one entry into the draw for each school visited (upon submission of picture).

Schedule your visit with an elementary school and start planning!

Start date: September 3, 2013
Submission deadline: September 30, 2013
Pictures should be high definition photos of action shots of kids playing the game, group photos etc.)

Please visit the National Volleyball Month RESOURCES for helpful tips on how to visit an elementary school and contact your Provincial/Territorial Association for more resources on how to grow the game.

Our goal is that each club in Canada visits one elementary school per year.  The sport of volleyball does not currently have the TV exposure to compete with the NHL, NBA and MLB… so we have to go to the kids and the teachers!

Help us grow the game and take part in the movement by contacting your local elementary school today!
