TEAM BC BEACH PROGRAM INFORMATION

Team BC Female Programs:

17-19U National Team Challenge Cup

Program Information: The National Team Challenge Cup is an annual competition that in non Canada Games years acts as the pinnacle of Team BC competition. Provincial teams from across Canada gather to compete. Volleyball Canada will continue their involvement with the Canadian National Team during the National Team Challenge Cup. This year, Volleyball Canada will be selecting the Junior National Team (18U, athletes born in 1994 or later)  from this tournament. Selected athletes from the NTCC tournament will stay in Winnipeg to for the next 3 1/2 weeks and travel to the Dominican Republic of the Junior NORCECA Championships, Aug 19-27, 2012.

 In 2012, the top 20-30 female athletes comprised of 17-19U (athletes born in 1993 or later) age classes will be selected during the NTCC Tryouts on May 26-27, 2012. Team BC will be sending 2 teams of 10 athletes to this competition, July 18-23 in Winnipeg. This program is designed to facilitate athlete development and preparation for the 2013 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Team Canada Junior National Team Women’s Program Information

Tryout Dates: May 26-27, 2012

9:00-11:30 and 2:00-4:00 both days

Registration closes midnight Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Tryout Location: Harry Jerome Sports Centre, Burnaby

Training Dates: July 3-17, 2012

Training Location: Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford

Competition Dates: July 17-22, 2012

Competition Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Program Fees:

NTCC Tryouts: $85 (HST will be applied to all fees)

NTCC Training: $1500 (HST will be applied to all fees)

Payment Options:

  1. Pay in full through ONLINE REGISTRATIONS. Payment due July 3rd.
  2. Half payments made through ONLINE REGISTRATIONS. First payment due June 15th and second payment due at the start of training camp, July 3rd.

    16U Western Elites

    Program Information: The Western Elites is the athlete’s first experience in being selected to a smaller Provincial Team and longer training over the summer. After training, the selected athletes will travel and competes in the Western Elite Championships, involving the Western Provinces and Territories.

    In 2012, Team BC will select 24-30 athletes. Athletes will be chosen from the 16U 2011 Baden Cup.

    Training Dates: July 13-26, 2012

    Training Location: Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops

    Competition Dates: July 27-29, 2012

    Competition Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

    Program Fee:

    $1500 plus HST

      16U Baden Cup

      Program Information: The Baden Cup is a progressive large scale training experience for future Team BC athletes. The top athletes from across BC will come together and train amongst their peers with some of the best coaches in the province. Athletes will focus on enhancing all the basic skills and will be introduced to advanced skills and tactics. The top 24-30 athletes from the 16U Baden Cup will be selected to the Team BC program and prepare for competition at the Western Elites.

      Athletes will stay at the TRU Residence and will have meals supplied.

      Training Dates: July 9-12, 2012

      Training Location: Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops

      Program Fees:

      Regional Tryouts: $65 plus HST

      Baden Cup Camp: $450 plus HST

        14U Baden Cup

        Program Information: The Baden Cup is a progressive large scale training experience for future Team BC athletes. The top athletes from across BC will come together and train amongst their peers with some of the best coaches in the province. Athletes will focus on enhancing all the basic skills and will be introduced to advanced skills and tactics, as well as an introduction to Beach Volleyball. This is an athlete’s first direct encounter with the Team BC pathway. (No subsequent selection to teams or programs will take place at the conclusion of the Baden Cup).

        Due to the nature of this camp, athletes will not be housed or fed during the 4 days.

        Training Dates: July 1-4, 2012

        Training Location: Richmond Oval, Richmond (July 1-3) and Spanish Banks West, Vancouver (July 4)

        Program Fees:

        Regional Tryouts: $65 plus HST
