TWU – No. 1 Spartans Return Home, Look to Keep Rolling Against Saskatchewan

LANGLEY, B.C. – After three weeks, the No. 1 ranked Trinity Western men’s volleyball team returns home, playing host to the Saskatchewan Huskies Friday and Saturday at the Langley Events Centre Fieldhouse.

THE WEEKEND STORY

  • The Spartans are coming off a weekend sweep over the Manitoba Bisons, picking up their sixth and seventh consecutive three-set wins (Nov. 15-16).
  • TWU has won 18 straight sets, and have dropped a mere three sets through eight games this season.
  • Saskatchewan visits after a pair of losses at home against Brandon last weekend (3-1, 3-0).
  • TWU sits first in conference hitting percentage at .410, while Saskatchewan is fifth, hitting .290 as a team.
  • Spartan outside hitter Eric Loeppky (Steinbach, Man.) is second in the conference hitting .424, while teammate Brodie Hofer (Langley, B.C.) is third at .410.
  • Huskies outside hitter Dylan Mortensen will lead Saskatchewan’s attack, currently third in conference kills per set, with 3.69.
  • TWU is 4-1 over its last five games against Saskatchewan, including winning both games against the Huskies last season (Nov. 16-17).
  • Spartans coach Ben Josephson is coming off winning his 200th regular season game as TWU’s head coach.
