The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack are off and running in Canada West women’s volleyball.

Brandon was led by Kiera Fey with 14.5 points. She had 15 kills and 14 digs. Danielle Larocque had 16 points and 12 blocks. Caitlin Le had 22 assists.

Said head coach Chad Grimm, ” I thought overall it was a decent performance by our crew. We haven’t done a ton of preseason games and done a lot of game play. My goal for the crew today was to keep the ball in play and make Brandon earn points. For the most part, we did a good job of that. I thought as the match went along, our block and defense started to get tougher. We started to serve the ball better and started to stretch out and get a lead. Brandon played a tough game. I thought they were excellent. They are always tough. Lee (Carter) is a great coach and does a great job. It will be another tough one tomorrow. It was nice to start off the season with a victory.”

The same two teams will go at it Saturday (Oct 19) in Brandon. The Pack return home to entertain the University of Calgary Dinos at the Tournament Capital Centre on Friday, October 28th.
