This last weekend the Tradex Convention Centre was transformed into an expansive volleyball zone with 18 courts for the annual Volleyball BC Provincial Championships. This year’s tournament featured one of the largest fields of club teams in the history of the event, with teams from all areas of BC and as far away as the Yukon travelling to compete.
Volleyball BC hosted a 50th Anniversary photo booth which offered youth athletes the chance to dress up in funny outfits for photos and the opportunity to win prizes. Photo booth pictures are posted on the Volleyball BC photo website (photos.volleyballbc.org). Brittany Page, the Canadian Women’s National Team captain, also visited the event on Saturday and Sunday, and the young players were very excited to get autographs and photos with the Canadian volleyball star.
Volleyball BC would like to thank all of the clubs, teams, athletes, and parents who made this event possible. We look forward to seeing all of the athletes and parents at the beach this summer and again in January 2016 for the start of the new club season!
