Mariners and Lightning Top BC School Sports Preseason Boys Volleyball Rankings

BC School Sports has released their preseason rankings ahead of the 2018 Senior Boys Volleyball season.

No surprise on the AAA Boys side, as the Earl Marriott Mariners start off as the No. 1 ranked team right out of the gate. The Mariners return several players from last year’s team and will add Takoda McMullin and Talon McMullin to the mix from a Grade 10 team that won the Junior Boys Provincial Championship in 2017.

On the AA Boys side, two familiar combatants are sure to fight it out this season for the Title.

The Langley Christian Lighting get the nod as the No. 1 ranked team after capturing the past two Provincial Championships.

Hot on their heels is a very talented Abbotsford Christian Knights team that lost to them in the Provincial Final last season. The Knights return many of their starters from a season ago, including Cole Brandsma – a player many consider to be the best player in the province.

Volleyball BC is looking to cover the B.C. high school volleyball scene like never before.

Know an inspiring athlete who has over come something or is excelling in sport?

Know a high school coach that has made a difference in their player’s lives?

Know a volunteer or referee that has made a difference at your school/district?

Throughout the high school volleyball season, Volleyball BC will be sharing some of the stories we hear about that are going on in our community. If you know an athlete, coach, referee, volunteer or team we should write about, drop Ian a line at [email protected].
