Volleyball BC hosted the 2016 Adult Indoor Provincial Championships this past weekend!
11 Men’s and 11 Women’s teams battled in a one-day tournament on Saturday at UBC. Teams travelled from Victoria, Campbell River, Bellingham, Whitehorse, the Fraser Valley, and across the Lower Mainland a to take part in a the event. There were some exciting, competitive matches in both divisions. Congratulations on the Men’s side goes to PacBest (GOLD), who defeated Dougy Ball Swag (SILVER) for the second time in the tournament. FOT (BRONZE), the team of Trinity Western Men’s Volleyball Alumni finished in third. The SFU Men’s Volleyball Club won the Tier 2 division having played in the same match last year in 2015! On the Women’s side, Capilano University’s Cap-a-sun (GOLD) were undefeated all day and played CATS (SILVER) in the finals. Third place was awarded to Sofa King Awesomes (BRONZE). The *hitfaced team won the Tier 2 division.
Coed 6’s was a new event in the Volleyball BC Adult Indoor Provincials this year. 6 Coed 6’s teams played on Sunday at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary in a double elimination tournament. Despite an injury early on in the day, TWU Titans (GOLD) won the event. Rainmaker (SILVER) and Bliss Ballz (BRONZE) also claimed prizes for their performance!
The Provincial Championship trophies will be engraved with the winners and will be on display at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre.
