LANGLEY, B.C. – The Trinity Western Spartans men’s and women’s volleyball teams both remain ranked No. 1 in the country after the latest U SPORTS Top 10 rankings.
The men’s volleyball team continues riding the top spot in the country for the sixth consecutive week, after closing out the first semester with a pair of three set victories on the road in Calgary. The Spartans, which have won 10 consecutive games, are in the midst of winning a school record 30 consecutive sets while holding a 35-3 set-ratio.
Joining the men’s team atop the national rankings are the Spartans women’s volleyball team, who hold the top spot for the sixth time this season after picking up road wins against Calgary for its 10th and 11th wins on the season. TWU heads into the Christmas break sitting tied with Mount Royal for first in Canada West with an 11-1 record.
The women’s volleyball team resumes play next semester, traveling to Regina to take on the Cougars Jan. 3-4, 2020. The men’s volleyball team opens the 2020 portion of its regular season with a bye week.
