Q. What is Team BC?
A. Volleyball BC Team BC Programs work to identify, train and develop athletes with high performance potential and coaches who aspire to represent Canada internationally. Team BC programs provide a pathway for athletes and coaches to reach elite levels within the sport of indoor and beach volleyball.

Team BC Beach Pathway has programs for athletes aged 16-24U. Please visit each program-specific page for more information.
Q. Why are all the Team BC program names different than previous years?
A. Team BC Red & Blue (Formerly 16U) and Team BC Select Program (Formerly Team BC 18U) have been renamed to follow LTAD principles published by the Canadian Sport for Life Group. Teams will be selected by athlete developmental level rather than age categories. Q. How do selections work for Team BC?
A. Athletes must follow the program specific selection process in order to be considered for participation with the program. All selection information can be found on each program’s web page, found listed on the Team BC menu.
The selection process for most programs requires athletes to attend a selection camp. All selection camp registration is done through the Volleyball BC Registration Website.
Q. What if I cannot attend a selection camp?
A. In order to be considered for selection to a Team BC program, athletes MUST attend the selection camp.
New for 2018, athletes who cannot attend the Regional Selection Camp for Team BC Baden Cup 14U & Team BC Baden 16/17U can attend a selection camp in another region on a different weekend.
Athletes who cannot attend the Team BC Zone Porgram or Team BC Select Open Selection Camp may be eligible to complete an external application. Please email [email protected] for consideration.
Athletes must attend the Team BC Beach Selection Tournaments in order to be considered for the Team BC 16 & 18U program OR Team BC 20U program

Q. Is Team BC Select only for athletes 18 years old?
A. No. Athletes born in 2001 OR LATER are eligible to participate in the program. Athletes across multiple age groups will be selected for the program, and athletes who participate may range from 16-18 years old.
Q. I was born between Sept – Dec 2000, am I eligible to compete with Team BC Select?
A. No. The extended age category will not be utilized for the Team BC Select program. Volleyball Canada sets the age categories for the Canada Cup. Team BC programming is based off of these.
Q. I am born in 2002 (17), do I attend Team BC Select – Open Selection Camp or Team BC Regional Selection Camps?
A. Athletes born in 2002 (17) must attend the Team BC Select – Open Selection Camp. Athletes born in 2002 who are NOT selected to the Team BC Select program may be invited to the Team BC Baden Cup 16/17U. Athletes born Sept-Dec 2002 may attend Team BC Regional Selection Camps.
Q. I am born in 2002 (17), can I participate with the Team BC Baden Cup 16/17U and Team BC Red & Blue?
A. Yes, athletes born in 2002 can participate with the Team BC Baden Cup 16/17U and Team BC Red & Blue Program. Athletes born in 2002 MUST attend the Team BC Select Open Selection camp. Athletes born Sept-Dec 2002 may attend Team BC Regional Selection Camps. Athletes not chosen for the Select program will be considered for the Team BC Baden Cup 16/17U.
