Program Overview
The 2022 Team BC Beach 21U program will identify and develop athletes who have the potential to compete and excel at the Canada Games. Athletes will train in a camp based program throughout the summer 2022. Training will be led by a full coaching staff and integrated support team to ensure athletes meet their full potential.
NOTE – All accredited athletes, coaches, managers, technical officials, participant assistants, venue pass holders, mission staff, guests and media must receive and provide proof of a complete and up-to-date series of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to their arrival at the 2022 or the 2023 Canada Games. Eligible Athletes
BC athletes born in 2001 or later
Note: The extended 16-month age categories do not apply for the Team BC Beach 21U program. Athletes attending school on a full-time basis outside their province/territory of permanent residence during the year of the Canada Games shall be permitted to compete for either their province/territory of permanent residence or the province/territory in which the athlete attends school. ATHLETE IDENTIFICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
STEP 1 – ATHLETES ATTEND OPEN IDENTIFICATION CAMP
BC athletes born in 2001 or later attend the Team BC Beach Selection Camp. Athletes who cannot attend any selection camp may also apply for and submit an External Identification Application Form 2022.
Number of Positions Available: up to 6 athletes/gender to be selected for training block and competition events.
Selection Policy & Criteria: Athletes selection for the Team BC Beach Program will follow the Volleyball BC Selection Policy
Team BC Beach 21U Selection Camp
Location: Spanish Banks West, Vancouver, BC
Dates & Times: May 27-29
May 27 – 6-8 pm
May 28 – TBD, Tournament Play Kitts Beach
May 29 – 11-1 pm

STEP 2 – CANADA SUMMER GAMES SELECTION
Final Selection of Pair Select to Compete at Canada Games to be selected at a later date in summer 2022, process is TBD and will be finalized in early Winter/Spring.

TEAM BC Beach 21U TRAINING & COMPETITION SCHEDULE
Team BC Beach 21U program will consist of up to 20 days of training days consisting of weekend training camps and training blocks leading up a Competition Event July 2022, and the Canada Games August 5-13th in Niagara ON.
Tentative Draft Training Schedule is TBD. Details to be finalized in consultation with athletes selected to the program.
Canada Summer Games: Week 1 – August 5 – 14, Niagara ON
PROGRAM FEES
Travel Athlete: approximately $3000, pending schedule confirmation.
Fees include 20 days of training, performance services, Team BC apparel, travel and participation in the Pre-Competition, and for selected athletes travel and participation in the Canada Summer Games.
