As 2022 starts, we are proud to share this report on our achievements in 2021 against our Strategic Plan, along with our plans for 2022.

In February 2021, we launched our new Strategic Plan for 2021-2024.  With the vision of “igniting passion for volleyball”, the plan outlines ambitious goals around safety, player pathways, diversity and inclusion, and membership engagement. The Strategic Plan was the result of extensive consultation with players, coaches, referees, and clubs about volleyball in British Columbia.

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we have made solid progress towards delivering the goals, key initiatives and activities outlined in the plan. Highlighted in this report are the key activities and achievements that we made during 2021.  But we aren’t done yet!  Building on this work, we have developed new priorities to take our work further in 2022 and these are also included in the report.  Watch out for more information about these activities in the new year…

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who worked, volunteered, contributed, and supported us over the past year. The volleyball community is a special one – and we are proud to drive this work forward to make our sport better!

You Spoke, We Listened!

We are excited to share with you the results of our first Annual Member Survey that we carried out earlier this year. Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and provided your thoughts and feedback.

As part of our Strategic Plan’s commitment to strong stakeholder relationships and meaningful services, we launched our new Annual Member Survey from July 1-31, 2021. We promoted the survey on our website, newsletters, social media and on-site at our programs and events.  Over 440 of you completed the survey, including Youth, Adult Players, Coaches, Referees, and Club Directors.

We have spent the last few months analysing and reviewing the data in order to:

• Assess satisfaction levels, perception of, and areas of improvement for Volleyball BC.
• Develop benchmark measures that can be repeated annually to improve our services and programs.
• Identify priorities and next steps on key areas which can translated into action plans for forthcoming years.

Over the next few months, we will be launching a new Membership Engagement Strategy and a new website that will be a direct response to the feedback that we heard from you.  Coming your way soon in 2022!
