Volleyball BC starts the Same Game Challenge

Volleyball BC is excited to share that we have been selected by Canadian Women and Sport to participate in the Same Game Challenge.  The Same Game Challenge helps sport organisations to gain a better understanding of how to engage women and girls in sport and to improve their organisation and programming for everyone.

Over the next 6 months, Volleyball BC will be supported to advance gender equity across all areas of the organisation through one-to-one coaching and mentorship, professional development, and knowledge from Canadian Women and Sport. This work forms part of our 2021-2024 Strategic Plan that strives to ensure that there are inclusive and welcoming opportunities for everyone to access volleyball.

“As part of our strategic plan, Volleyball BC has placed a strong emphasis on promoting diversity, equity and inclusion – we are excited to be part of the Same Game Challenge so that we can learn from best practice, collaborate with others, and put in place a framework that will push gender equity forward in volleyball in British Columbia.” – Emma Gibbons, Chief Executive Officer, VBC

Volleyball BC has formed a working group of representatives from the Board, staff, contractors, coaches and referees to help guide the Same Game Challenge. We will provide updates to you over the next 6 months – watch this space!
