Volleyball BC is excited to announce the hiring of Dan Drezet as the North Regional Manager. The North region continues to be an area of opportunity for growth and development. “Dan brings years of experience within the Volleyball system having been involved with Volleyball BC at the Board level, part of the Team BC programs, and has done countless hours of volunteer work with programming in the North region and with the PGYVC club,” states Executive Director Chris Densmore.
The region has had someone from the main office and/or Island region organizing camps and clinics over the past five years. Not having someone from the North region taking care of these programs has put many responsibilities on the local volunteers. “The true potential of the Northern region cannot be reached without having someone in place from that area,” comments Chris Densmore. Dan’s experience and knowledge of the region make him an ideal candidate for this position.
PGYVC is one of the largest clubs in the province and Dan has been a huge part of this growth and success. Dan has a passion for the north region and wants to see growth from other areas outside of Prince George. “I’m very excited that Volleyball BC has decided to bring back the regional position in northern BC. We have many dedicated volunteers living in different areas across the north that are passionate about volleyball and contribute to its growth and popularity. I’m hoping that by bringing back this position, we can help provide additional support to those individuals as well as to the hundreds of athletes in our region,” comments Dan Drezet. As the position grows over the years, the goal is to increase the roles and responsibilities. Dan’s vision is to help get the position up and running then find someone who he can mentor to take over and help grow the sport within the Northern region.
