TRU – WVB Ends Exhibition Season With Victory

It was a .500 weekend for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s volleyball team in exhibition play in Langley, BC.

After dropping a decision to the host Trinity Western University Spartans on Friday (Oct 4), the WolfPack rallied with a three straight set win over the UBC Thunderbirds.

The scores on Saturday (Oct 5) were 25-21,25-22, 25-17.

Thompson Rivers head coach Chad Grimm stated afterwards, ” It was a good performance. I thought we were steady and had good energy. Whenever UBC went on a run we put together a run of our own. I thought our service game was excellent and we blocked really well. I think our service helped put them out of system and our block did a good job of shutting down any shots that they had. Overall, I was happy with our performance.”

Thompson Rivers ends their exhibition season with a win, a tie and three losses.

The WolfPack open up their 2019-20 Canada West season on Friday, October 18 th in Brandon against the Bobcats. They return to the Tournament Capital Centre for a two match weekend against the University of Calgary Dinos on Friday October 25th and Saturday October 26th.
