The Okanagan Saves the Best for Last!

Kelowna hosted the best volleyball of the season on March 28 & 29, when 37 teams in the 17/18U divisions competed in the last Super Series of the year.  Clubs from every region of the province travelled to participate in the Okanagan event, with the furthest team, Northwest, travelling all the way from Terrace.

The Okanagan needed three large facilities to house the event, and UBC Okanagan, Okanagan Mission Secondary School and George Elliot Secondary School were the perfect venues.  With Championship matches taking place at both UBC Okanagan and Okanagan Mission, the city was flooded with top caliber volleyball.

The “AA” Champions were BCO Elite who won their second Super Series of the season.  BCO Elite first defeated #2 ranked Team Academy Blitz in the semi finals before ousting Force in the gold medal match.  Meanwhile, it was Air Attack Gold that took home top honours in the “A” Level.  Air Attack Gold went undefeated throughout the entire event to claim the top finish over Apex Xplosion in their last match of the regular season.

The 17/18U girls’ teams will now have a few weeks off to fine tune their skills before their Provincial Championships in Richmond next month.
