Our Men’s and Women’s 2-Star events (formerly known as Pro events) featured 32 teams each, while 21 Men’s teams and 18 Women’s teams played in our 1-Star events (formerly known Am events).
Sean Casey and Alex Russell defeated Pablo Vidal and John Galloway to win the 2-Star Men’s Final (21-11, 21-11).
“[Vidal and Galloway] are really good competition and so consistent all the time. We knew we had to bring another level of game today,” said Russell following their victory.
As for the 2-Star Women’s Final, Quinci Birker and Darby Dunn beat Kumiko Chow and Denise Wooding to take the tournament’s top spot (21-14, 16-21, 15-13).
“It was really awesome to play,” said Dunn after the final. “I think that [The Beach Tour] competition gets better and better every year. It’s a great environment.”
Landon Uy and Zarley Zalusky took the top spot 1-Star Men’s Final, while Jasanna Kunz and Sophie Lachapelle won the 1-Star Women’s Final.
