Team BC Red & Blue 2020 Program Overview
Volleyball BC Team BC Programs work to identify, train and develop high potential athletes and coaches who aspire to represent Canada internationally. Team BC programs provide a pathway for athletes and coaches to reach elite levels with in the sport of Indoor and Beach Volleyball.
The Team BC Red & Blue Program introduces athletes to a high performance training environment where physical, technical-tactical, psychological, and life skills will be developed. Athletes train to compete annually at the Canada Cup.
Volleyball BC and/or Volleyball Canada member athletes born in 2004 or later.
Note: Athletes born in 2003 may be invited to participate with the Red & Blue Program.
Athletes born in 2004 attend the Team BC Regional Selection Camps, and are identified and invited to the Team BC Baden Cup.
Athletes attend the Red and Blue selection camp and are selected to the Team BC Red & Blue Program.
Athletes MUST attend either a Team BC Regional Selection Camp OR Team BC Select tryout in order to be considered to attend the Baden Cup. Athletes who cannot attend a Team BC Regional Selection Camp in their home region MAY attend a regional selection camp in a different region. Athletes who attend the Team BC Select tryout, and are NOT selected MAY be considered to attend the Red & Blue Selection Camp. Athletes born in September-December 2003 may attend the Team BC Regional Selection Camp
Team BC Red & Blue Selection Camp Details
Eligible Athletes: Volleyball BC and/or Volleyball Canada member athletes born in 2004 or later
Positions Available: Approximately 70 athletes/gender
Dates: July 2 – 5th (July 1 Check In)
Location: Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops BC
Selected Athletes: TBD
Check In: Date – July 1st 2020
Time – 5-7 pm
Location – TRU Residence – 950 McGill Rd, Kamloops, BC V2C 6N6
Camp Meeting at 8 pm
Pick Up: Date – July 5th 2020
Time – 3-4 pm *approximately 30 after the Selection Camp Tournament has completed
Location – Tournament Capital Centre
Selected Athletes – Team BC Parent Meeting at 3:30 PM
Non-Selected Athletes – Depart Tournament Capital Centre 3:30 PM
The Team BC Red & Blue Program roster will be announced at the end of the Baden Cup event on July 8th. Be prepared when you arrive to pick up your athlete, that they may be staying in Kamloops. 30 athletes will be chosen to be a part of this program. Costs Includes – Food, Accommodation, 4-6x On Court sessions, 1-2x Off Court Sessions, Baden Cup Tournament, Baden Cup Shirts, On Site Athletic Therapy.

Team BC Apparel
All Athletes will receive a Volleyball BC Team BC apparel package (3 training shirts, shorts, top + bottom and bag). Please note that Team BC Jersey’s are property of Volleyball BC and are to be returned at the completion of the Canada Cup Program. Athlete’s have the option to purchase their Team BC Jersey for $65.00 paid to Volleyball BC at the end of the Team BC program.
Team BC Red & Blue Training
Location: Kamloops – Thompson Rivers University (TRU) & Tournament Capital Center
Date & Times: Kamloops July 6 – 15th
Check in will take place on July 5th at 5 pm at TRU Residence
Accommodations: TRU Residence
Food: 3 meals/day TRU Food Services
Medical Services: Head Therapist & Student Therapist on-site at Kamloops Training
Bed linens, towels and a room service will be provided at the TRU residence. Laundry service will also be available to athletes to clean clothes during the event.
Canada Cup – Volleyball Canada
Dates: July 15-19 2020
Location: Calgary, AB
Transportation: Athletes & coaches will bus from Kamloops to Calgary. Athletes will need to be picked up from Kamloops or Vancouver July 19th.
Travel Athlete $1900 + GST
Fees include 10 days of training, accommodation, food and on-site therapy, Team BC apparel, travel to Calgary AB, accommodation and food in Calgary during training and the Canada Cup.

BC External Credentials Program
Athletes that participate with the Team BC Red & Blue program are eligible to earn Athlete 11 external sports credentials. Eligible athletes will receive a verification letter from Volleyball BC in August once the BC Summer Games have completed. Team BC Training 2020/21
Team BC will provide 3 weekend training camps for Team BC eligible athletes to access between September 2020 – March 2021. The purpose of the Team BC Training Camps are to provide additional high performance training opportunities for Team BC athletes throughout the year. Team BC training camps take a holistic approach to athlete development for targeted athletes by physical testing and training lead by performance partners Oval HP as well as psychological and life skill development lead by performance partner Athlete Wellness Academy.

Dates*: #1 September 12-13 2020, #2 December 12-13 2020, #3 March 18-21 2021
Location: Harry Jerome Sports Centre, Burnaby BC
Schedule: TBD, approximately 6 hrs each day
Accommodations, Transportation & Food: Athletes and parents will have to organize their own transportation, accommodation and food for the weekend.
