Province’s Top 15 Girls Volleyball Players Named

It’s that time of year again when the Province releases its annual Best of BC Super 15 Volleyball Class of 2014-2015. Below we’ve listed their selections and you can see the whole article here.

Senior Girls Super 15 Class of 2014-15

1. Sarah Chase (Campbell River-Timberline) (6-0, OH, St. Mary’s (NCAA, indoor/beach) — Athletic, six-rotation outside hitter with all the tools to be successful at the collegiate level. (6)

2. Nicole McNamara (South Delta) (5-8, RS/S, UCLA beach) — Southpaw was the go-to hitter and the MVP at the B.C. Triple A championships. (15)

3. Megan McNamara (South Delta) (5-8, OH, UCLA beach) — Nicole’s twin sister, the right-hander, provides outstanding defence, solid passing and steady hitting. (21)

4. Brie O’Reilly (Kelowna-Heritage Christian) (6-0, S/OH, Trinity Western) — Noted for her great ball-control skills, she has tools to be top setter or attacker. (24)

5. Shae Harris (North Vancouver-Carson Graham) (5-11, S, Seattle) — Headed for NCAA D-1, setter with good size, soft hands, and ability to run good offence. (26)

6. Sara Pantovic (Vancouver-King George) (6-0, OH, Arizona beach) — Impressive jumper, blocks and attacks with power. She brings terrific intensity to the floor. (39)

7. Siobhan Finan (Vancouver-York House) (6-2, OH, UBC) — Left-handed attacking force also known for her strong blocking skills. Had added improved back-row play to resume. (42)

8. tie Kendra Finch (North Vancouver-Argyle) (5-11, OH, Thompson Rivers) — Top-notch volleyball IQ, she brings a well-rounded game with ball control and passing real strengths. (50)

8. tie Cassidy Pearson (South Delta) (6-0, OH, Manitoba) — Strong and versatile, she plays all six rotations will kill capability from any position along the net. (50)

10. Megan Hart (Kelowna-Immaculata) (6-4, M, New Mexico State) — Good size and blocking, she finished her high school career as the MVP at the B.C. Single A championships. (59)

11. tie Cassidy Kitchen (Terrace-Caledonia) (6-0, OH/M, undecided) — Athletic outside hitter with good arm and all-round skill set led her Terrace team to fifth at 3A B.C.’s. (75)

11. tie Tessa May (Gibsons-Elphinstone) (6-2, M, Simon Fraser) — Physical middle blocker who showed she can be a true presence at the net. Led seven-player team to 8th at BC’s. (75)

13. Dayna Kern (Vancouver-York House) (6-3, M, Tulane) — Middle blocker with great size, she was a force at the net for her York House team all season. (76)

14. Jessica Bailey (Surrey-Pacific Academy) (6-2, M, Trinity Western) — Noted for hitting a very heavy ball, she doubled as a true blocking force for B.C. 2A powerhouse. (89)

15. Anna Price (North Vancouver-Argyle) (5-9, OH, undecided) — Smart hitter with good back-row skills, was named the MVP in leading Pipers to B.C. 4A championship. (95)
