PA and Moscrop win big at Vancouver High School Open!

This weekend’s High School Open was an excellent start to the 2013 Youth Beach season here in BC – with (nearly) perfect weather, record entries and high quality volleyball!

Brand new for 2013 were two school competitions to find out which school rules the beach! Big congratulations to Surrey’s Pacific Academy who were overall champions, dominating the girls’ competitions with two golds and two silvers. The Breakers are a big volleyball force indoors, so it’s great to see their squad raising the bar on the beach.

The battle for the School Spirit award was very tight, with Burnaby’s Moscrop Secondary just edging it from Earl Marriott with 14 teams competing.  Zach Or and JJ Cross also took the silver medal in the Grade 11-12 Boys, rounding off the weekend for Moscrop on a high!
