Great Day 1 at Tradex!

Provincials Day 1 in Review

April 26th marked the first day of Volleyball BC’s 2013 Club Provincial Championships! The U13 and U14 girls Girls kicked off day 1 of our tournament this Friday afternoon at Tradex – Trade and Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford BC.  In division 1 of the U13 age group Thunder Blue, Raincity Rush, Coquitlam Ducks, Seaside Surf, Altruista Black, Force Mike and Thunder White are on the road to gold.  In Division 1 of the 14U age group, PGYVC Kodiaks JP, Victoria Titans, Ducks Bryan, Altruista Black, Seaside Wahine, Gecko, NVC Blue and Airborne will battle in their respective matches Saturday for their chance to play for Gold.

A mid-day highlight was our U14 and U13 Girls “Most Inspirational Player” awards ceremony. Each team nominated an inspirational player. These girls are standout representatives of fair play and fun and were awarded prizes by National Team captain and BC native Fred Winters. Congrats to our U13 and U14 poster contest winners! 1st place went to Altruista Silver 14U! The Altruista girl’s poster had cut outs of every player on their team standing on a glitter volleyball.  A close 2nd was Seaside Storm 13U and 3rd place went to the North Shore Stars Galaxy.

The Under 13, Under 14 & Under 17/18 Volleyball BC Provincial Championships continue Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th. This is the largest indoor volleyball event in British Columbia for this age group, with an estimated 2,500 plus athletes, coaches and spectators in attendance. 180 teams will take to the Tradex Exhibition Centre this weekend, hope to see you there!
