 Richmond Oval plays host to one of the top International Tournaments for Women’s Volleyball.

July 21st, 22nd, & 23rd : Canada takes on Germany, Peru and the Czech Republic.

A premier women’s volleyball showcase is coming to Canada for the very first time. This summer, our Canadian National Team will entertain some of the best female players in the world at the Richmond Olympic Oval from July 21 to July 23. The tournament will be the first major event for our women’s team at its brand new BC-based home in Richmond. It will also be the first opportunity for new head coach Marcello Abbondanza to see his players in action versus some tough international competition.

Over three days, there will be six matches between four countries : Canada, Germany, Peru and the Czech Republic. Tickets start at just $12.00 for youth/group pricing per day and $25.00 for a youth/group full event pass (youth/group rates apply to orders of 10 or more when you order online). Volleyball Canada is also offering premium court side seating for all 3 days starting at $50.00 per person.

July 21 
– 6.10pm – Canada vs Germany
– 8.10pm – Peru vs Czech Republic

July 22
– 12.40pm – Canada vs Peru
– 2.40pm – Czech Republic VS Germany

July 23 
– 12.40pm – Canada vs Czech Republic
– 2.40pm – Germany vs Peru

 

About Grand Prix
There are 32 countries participating in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix in 2017 – up from 28 last year. The format of the competition remains unchanged in 2017 with the 32 teams split into three groups.  Canada is competing in Group 2 with 11 other teams – the top four after three rounds of play will qualify to the finals.

The preliminary round of Group 2 will take place over three weeks including July 7-9 (Argentina), July 14-16  (Puerto Rico) and July 21-23 (Canada) with the finals taking place from July 28 to 30 in the Czech Republic.
