#BCSportConference ’17: Emotional Intelligence for High Performance Coaches

Wednesday, December 21, 2016 – There is a lot more to coaching then just x’s and o’s and Steve Gutzler’s presentation on Emotional Intelligence is a perfect example of that fact. Steve will not only help you learn to manage your own emotion as a coach, but will also teach you to manage the emotions of your players as well at the 3rd Annual BC Sport Conference on January 14, 2017 in Burnaby, BC. In today’s fast-paced competitive sports environment, how effective are you as a leader? Emotional Intelligence (EI), our ability to manage ourselves and others around us, is the single greatest contributor to personal excellence and high performance in leadership.

On January 14th, 2017 he will open our eyes to the depths of Emotional Intelligence, but according to Gutzler it’s really up to us to decide how deep we go, “I really try to just create a lot of awareness around emotional intelligence and show people how powerful it can be,” Gutlzer explained. “If they want to become students and grow in it, then I will point them in the right direction.”

Steve has gained worldwide recognition as an authority on Emotional Intelligence for exceptional leadership and Performance Leadership. He has had the opportunity to work with high powered CEO’s, Presidents, Professional Athletes and World-Class Organizations.

The vast variety of experience that Gutzler brings to the table on Emotional Intelligence stretches far beyond the surface and it’s a ride that everyone should be excited to take.

To prepare for what we can anticipate from Gutzler’s presentation, he invites everyone to review his one sheet description for Emotional Intelligence. This will provide everyone with a base knowledge of what we can expect to see from this highly sought after speaker. Harness the power of the number one predictor of professional success and high performance!

According to Gutzler, leadership comes down to this — when faced with a dilemma you come up with a solution. Like Forrest Gump eloquently put, “Simple is as simple does”. Often leaders are too “smart” for their own good. For some reason, they have a tendency to prove that they are really intelligent. And they do this by taking simple things and making them complicated. Gutzler hopes to clarify things even more in early January, by highlighting a few key points :

-The power of moods, attitudes and emotions and their contagious ability
-How effective leaders self-manage emotions rather than allowing them to sabotage personal success
-Understand the science of the human brain and how it influences our behaviors
-Learn game-changing skills to build emotional connections with clients and customers and build fierce   loyalty
-Create leadership standards of inspired greatness and break the cycle of fear
