As part of the ClearlyContacts.ca Open volleyball event at Kits Beach July 4-6, Volleyball BC hosted a youth tournament for teams aged 14 to 16. A total of 47 boys and girls teams competed in the event which took place right alongside the pro tournament.

The youth teams had a qualifier round on Friday, and winning teams advanced to Sunday’s playoff rounds. There were lots of parents and families at the beach enjoying the action and a large number of the pros took breaks in between games to watch the youth, and perhaps scout their future competition.

Congratulations to Ashley Klassen and Mackenzie Sparks-Guest who were the 16U girls champions, Kaden Gamache and Zech Johnson the 16U boys champions, Mary Tichelman and Gabrielle Tognetti the 14U girls champions, and Michael Dowhaniuk and Kevin Stewart the 14U boys champions.

Thank you to all of the athletes who took part in this event and we look forward to seeing you for the event in 2015.
