VBC has big plans for Youth Nationals!

For the first time in 11 years, Youth Beach Nationals will be held in BC! This promises to be the best Youth Nationals ever! Featuring stadium courts, a DJ, announcers, full medical coverage, national level officials, tournament social, excellent beach close to beautiful downtown Vancouver! Check in at Spanish Beach Thursday August 16th from 11:00am – 4:00pm or at the Sandman City Centre August 16th from 4:30pm-7:00pm

Rules

Court Size: 16m x 8 m

Official Ball: Wilson Canada Gold (H4310)

Rules: Volleyball Canada Beach Volleyball Rules will be followed.

Officiating: Referee Supervisors are assigned as roving officials. Players will be assigned as referees when they are not playing. All semi-final and final matches are officiated by sanctioned referees.

Venue / Accommodations

The competition venue will consist of 45 competition courts.

The maximum seating capacity is 2000. There is no entry fee to be a spectator. Center court will be located near the main concession stand at Spanish Banks Beach, Vancouver, BC.

Parking at Spanish beach is available in marked / pay lots. Free parking on the local streets is limited. Vehicles are monitored, ticketed and sometimes towed. No parking passes are available. Come early to avoid disappointment. Vancouver’s famous food trucks will be on hand to offer great food choices throughout the weekend so come early, get your parking spot and stay all day!

Wednesday, August 15th Travel day

Thursday, August 16th

Practice at Spanish Beach between 11am and 4pm (could take morning flight and still practice at beach) Check in at Spanish Beach between 11am and 4pm or at the Sandman Hotel from 4:30pm- 7:00pm Player meetings at Sadmdan Hotel from 7:30pm – 8:30pm (online meeting option – youtube video) Pick up tournament schedule at 8:30pm Sandman Hotel or get it online.

August 17th

Competition Day 1

August 18th

Competition Day 2

7:00pm Dinner/social at Moxie’s restaurant at the Sandman Hotel (must purchase dinner ticket in advance)

August 19th

Competition day 3

Optional: BC Lions vs Roughriders at brand new BC Place, next to tournament hotel, 4pm.

Monday, August 20th

Optional: Vancouver sightseeing
