Come Out to a Great Night of Volleyball at VBC’s AGM February 3rd!

Volleyball BC would like to invite all of its members to attend our Annual General Meeting on Friday, February 3 at 5:30pm at UBC War Memorial Gymnasium.  All attendees will be given food, beverages and tickets to watch the UBC Thunderbird women and men take on the Brandon Bobcats at 6:00pm and 8:00pm.  Keynote speakers include Hugh Wong, President of Volleyball Canada, Chris Densmore, Executive Director at Volleyball BC and Brian Hiebert, Communications Manager at Volleyball BC.  Chris Densmore will provide an update to all attendees on the VBC 2012-2015 strategic plan.  Brian Hiebert will be speaking about VBC plans for the upcoming Youth Beach National Championships and how VBC plans to use the event to help grow the sport of beach volleyball in our province.

All members who attend will also have the opportunity to vote for the following positions:

Club representative serving on the Regional Development Committee.  The 4 nominate people are:

  • Alym Mahkani
  • Mary Zuccaro
  • Ritchie Mallari
  • Leslie Hiedebrecht

The 3 positions up for election on VBC’s board of directors are:

  • Secretary Treasurer – Kelly Latzel is currently in this position and is seeking re-election
  • Member at Large – Tom Oxland is currently in this position and is seeking re-election
  • Member at Large – Mike Rockwell is currently in this position but is stepping down this year.  Howard Hum has been nominated and is seeking election to serve on the board.

The meeting will take place in room 100 at War Memorial Gymnasium at UBC.  Food and beverage will be provided.  After the meeting all attendees will get free tickets some great volleyball as the UBC men’s and women’s teams will be taking on the Brandon Bobcats.  Come on out for some great information and some great volleyball on February 3rd!
